Message Interior.
Yeah, it is a very nice interior and the 996 did show you can have a great interior in a performance car (like the Z32).

So, don't mind my BS ramblings here but after my almost 3 years of Z32 ownership I have learned alot. And one of those things I learned was how extremely important weight is at the track, and in performance in general. Since my complete understanding of weight significance, I look upon my heated mirrors and power seat in my Z with utter disgust. The 996 too me seem much of the same - TOO nice. You don't see these features in the 993, or the BMW E36 M3 for that matter, because, to me, they are more pure. I have newfound respect for spartan purposeful interiors and, again - to me, the 993 interior is so bland its beautiful, but I agree that most would think from that statement I am on drugs (see above).

Yeah, the pricing coming down in used P cars has even alowed me to DREAM about one day owning a 120k sports car. That in and of itself is a wonderful thing - agreed!

And sitting in a 996 turbo is is so amazing, you are right there too. At 120 MPH I couldn't get over the smoothness. Had I closed my eyes and you asked me how fast I thought we were going I would have SWORN it was 55 or 60. Amazing machine.

My problem is its not quite pure/spartan anymore. But, like you rightly point point out - to most thats a good thing.

You should come down to Barber in AL and try to lay the smack down on the new C6 Z06 with me in August. 500whp in your 996 might just be the ticket.
